Iowa nurses join Teamsters in hard-fought election win
Feb. 2, 2026 | Hospitals never stop filling beds. At UnityPoint in Des Moines, nurses were expected to keep that machine running no matter the cost to patients, our licenses, or ourselves. By 2024, they were chronically overcapacity, wait times were staggering, and staffing was dangerously thin—while executives continued to reward themselves. After being ignored by traditional nursing unions, UnityPoint nurses took an unprecedented step in Iowa: they organized themselves and became Teamsters. Teamsters Local 90 believed in them when others wouldn’t—and helped more than 900 nurses fight for real change. Full story at Labor NotesPhoto/UNI

Teamsters sue UPS for breach of national contract
Feb. 10, 2026 | The Teamsters Union filed an emergency motion for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction against United Parcel Service today, demanding the company shut down its plan to roll out a second illegal buyout scam targeting UPS Teamsters drivers. The package giant has told the union it aims to announce the Driver Choice Program (DCP) this week. The Teamsters detailed at least six violations of its National Master Agreement by UPS in the rollout of the buyout program, including direct dealing of new contracts with workers, elimination of union jobs when UPS contractually agreed to establish more positions, and erosion of the rights and privileges of union shop stewards, among other charges. Learn more [AP Photo/Mark Lennihan]

Feb. 19, 2026 | More than 500 Sysco drivers and warehouse workers in Chicago and Montana, jointly represented by five Teamsters locals, have voted by a 99.5 percent margin to authorize a strike. The workers are demanding wage increases, stronger benefits, and improved working conditions that meet or exceed the standards already set by thousands of Teamsters across the company. Sysco is one of the largest and most profitable food service providers in the United States. In 2025, the company posted net profits of $1.8 billion. The Teamsters represent more than 13,000 Sysco workers nationwide, including members of Local 355.

DHL Teamsters demand supplements before national agreement
Feb. 19, 2026 | The DHL Teamsters National Negotiating Committee returned to the bargaining table in Washington D.C., this week and continues to press the company for fair supplemental agreements. The Teamsters have made clear that there will be no national agreement until all supplemental bargaining is completed. The current national contract expires on March 31, and DHL must continue to negotiate supplements quickly because there will be no contract extensions. If management fails to deliver a fair agreement by the deadline, DHL Teamsters will be prepared to take action. Via Teamsters FB

Judge gives UPS green light for buyouts to drivers
Feb. 23, 2026 | A federal judge on Friday dismissed a Teamsters request to prohibit United Parcel Service from implementing a $150,000 buyout program for parcel delivery drivers, saying that union claims of harm were unfounded because arbitration can resolve any problems and that workers will be subject to involuntary layoffs if some don’t voluntarily leave the company. Learn more
