Hawley Leads Bipartisan Pro-Labor Push
Posted On: Mar 04, 2025
Mar. 4, 2025 | LEGISLATION | Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) and Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) are introducing a major bipartisan, union-backed labor bill [today], according to a draft first obtained by Axis. It’s the first time in decades aRepublican has spearheaded pro-union reforms. It comes as the Senate looks likely to confirm President Trump’s pro-labor nominee Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer as soon as this week to lead the Labor Department. The faster Labor Contracts Act aims to prevent employers from stalling union contract negotiations – requiring talks to begin within 10 days, rather than put off for years. Read the bill at Axios.
