Mar. 11, 2024 | NLRB | The National Labor Relations Board’s “joint employer rule,” which was due to take effect [today], was struck down late Friday by a federal judge in Texas. “The joint employer regulations…expanded the types of control over job terms and conditions that can trigger a joint employer finding,” reported Bloomberg on Saturday. The NLRB’s new joint employer rule is opposed by many businesses, both large and small. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce was the plaintiff in the case. The rule is also seen as an existential threat to the franchise business model. Labor Union News Related: The NLRB response.
