Today marks the 20th anniversary of the ADA, signed in to law by President George H.W. Bush. The landmark legislation followed decades of hard work by disabled activists who "combined their struggle to navigate ordinary obstacles with the extraordinary effort of convincing the country that the rights of the disabled were as fundamental as the rights of other minorities." Activists recall hard times.
