Some 35,000 members of the Machinists union begin what is to become a 43-day strike — the largest in airline history — against five carriers. The mechanics and other ground service workers wanted to share in the airlines’ substantial profits.

In 2009 Wall Street bounced back, but Main Street got stiffed

Over a year after Congress hashed out a bill to bailout banks after the financial crisis hit Wall Street, Wall Street is back and the the five largest remaining banks are now "larger, their executives and traders richer, their strategies of placing large bets with other people's money no less bold than before the meltdown."  But what about us working folks?
